Teas

Do birds really pick your teas?

Nope, we do not employ animals for labor. Our name actually comes from a legend our grandfather told us about extraordinary birds who would pick out the best leaves for their own nourishment.

How will my loose leaf teas and herbs be packaged?

We ship all loose leaf teas and herbs in 4 oz. re-sealable aluminum-lined bags.

I just received my tea and it looks like there is either too much tea or not enough of it. Is there something wrong?

Tea comes in all shapes and sizes. As a result, some teas may have leaves that are larger in size than others or can take up more space than others. We assure you that each bag contains the correct amount the tea. If you order 8 or more oz. of tea, your order will most likely come in more than one bag.

Why are some teas so expensive?

We offer a wide variety of teas that range in prices. The price of a tea is dependent on the type of tea, what part of the plant it is picked from, how it is processed, its availability and many other factors. You can find more information about how we grade our teas here. If you have any questions that were not answered, feel free to email us at info@birdpick.com and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

I can't find what I'm looking for. Where did it go?

We constantly change our inventory due to their availability. Some teas are produced only in the spring, some in the fall. Other teas are very limited in quantity due to the nature of their processing. Keep an eye out and we may get more of what you were looking for!

How do I brew tea?

It's quite simple. Please check out this article for more information.

How long will tea/herb stay fresh for?

Tea and herbs never really "go bad", but they may lose some of their flavor as time progresses. Our products can stay at optimum freshness for 6-8 months after opening if stored properly, i.e. in an air-tight container, away from light exposure.

Are your teas Kosher?

No, sorry. The teas we carry are not Kosher.

TEAWARE

Do your Kamjove products contain plastic?

Kamjove kettles are made out of a food-grade stainless steel body. The only part that is plastic is the handle of the kettle. However, the heating element is made out of metal and plastic parts. None of the plastic parts come into contact with the brewing compartment.

What type of plastic is the Bird PickĀ® Travel Tea Infuser made out of?

Our infusers are made out of PS 6 plastic, commonly known as Expanded Polystyrene Foam or EPS. It is Bisphenol A (BPA) free. The strainer is made of the same plastic with a stainless steel mesh.
