In 1985, our parent company Wing Hop Fung was founded. Wing Hop Fung translated means, “Together Forever Prosper.” From our humble beginnings with a small herbal shop in Los Angeles Chinatown, we have since evolved into the finest premier retailer of teas, herbs, ginseng, Asian imports and world-famous fine wines. The original Los Angeles location has more than 20,000 square feet of shopping space with a quality selection of merchandise to delight locals and tourists alike. In 2005, our second location opened in Monterey Park, a one of a kind shopping experience with custom built Asian décor that is authentic yet modern.

WHF has its own tea estates in Guangzhou, Zhejian, and Fujian China, including an organic tea garden that produces Bird Pick™ brand premium teas. All teas are imported directly to our warehouse, where it is specially packaged and shipped and sold in our retail locations as well distributed throughout fine retailers across the United States and Canada. With increasing consumer awareness about tea and consciousness to health, we strive to provide consumers product knowledge about our rich history with traditional teas and herbs. Bird Pick™ was founded on the principles of bridging our Eastern culture with Western society. Our purpose is to educate consumers, provide quality products at an unsurpassed value, and impart an awareness and appreciation of natural products that promote health and well-being.

The name Bird Pick™ originated from an ancient practice of cultivating the finest tea leaves. Extraordinary birds with acute senses would pick out the best leaves for their own nourishment. Similarly, we strive for the same standards as those of the birds when we make our special blend of teas.
